It all began one sunny day in the Adelaide Central Market...

Cypriot migrant brothers Minas and Stelios Markou established themselves as butchers in the Central Market Adelaide in 1969 at a shop that was then called Anglis Meats. In 1977, Stan then established his own shop on Grange road at Welland, but the Subway Meat name didn't come on to the scene until August of 1980 when a small shop near the underpass on Goodwood road was the start of the legacy. After several years at this premises and another across the road, Subway Meats relocated to Cowandilla, where we traded for over 20 years. We now operate from a brand new Export Certified facility at Wingfield.

Stan and his sons are still very active in the family business and pride themselves on longstanding relationships with customers.

Subway Meats is now one of Adelaide's largest and well respected Wholesalers in Adelaide supplying Beef, Chicken, Lamb plus other service lines to a wide range of food service outlets.
